Dear Parents and Guardians,
Arts Humboldt, with generous support from Weber Gasper Law Office, Sask Lotteries, the City of Humboldt, Humboldt Collegiate, Humboldt Public School, and a number of local businesses is excited to be bringing the Missoula Children’s Theater to Humboldt for the eighth year in a row!

The auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Jack & the Beanstalk will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 (4:00 p.m.) at the Humboldt Public School Gymnasium. There are roles for students Kindergarten through grade 12. Approximately 55 local area students will be cast to appear in the show, acting and singing alongside one of the MCT Tour Actors/Directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play, sorry, as there is a limited number of costumes. Students wishing to audition must arrive by 4:00 p.m. and stay for the entire two-hour session. Students must also be prepared to stay at HPS for the first rehearsal shortly after the auditions until about 8:15 p.m. (some students, especially the youngest, will not be required to stay).

This is a group audition. No advance preparation is necessary, but a smile  and enthusiasm are encouraged. Students should just be ready to come & have a good time!

The remaining rehearsals will be conducted Tuesday to Friday (Sept. 10-13) from 4:00 – 8:30 at Humboldt Collegiate Institute on the stage, in the commons area, and in one other room. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must keep their schedules clear for the entire week, and if selected, be able to attend ALL rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition on Monday. Cast members scheduled for the full 4½ hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a bag lunch, dinner, or snack for the 6:00 break (we will not be providing this, sorry).

Friday night is dress rehearsal. Every student in the cast will need to be available (no exceptions, sorry).

The performances will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 3:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. on the Humboldt Collegiate stage. All those cast must be available for ALL scheduled performances and dress rehearsal.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, an original adaptation of the classic children’s story. What happens when a young boy plants Wonder Beans in his own backyard? For Jack, it is the beginning of a great adventure. With a little help from P.T. Wonder and a Giant, Jack learns a valuable lesson about true happiness. This musical production also features a host of other characters, including the Elegant Harp, Jill, Mother, Milky White, the Farmers, the Merchants, the Circus Performers, and the Wonder Beans.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year more than 65,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors, and teachers! The residency in Humboldt is made possible by support from:
Weber Gasper Law Office, Arts Humboldt, Sask Lotteries, City of Humboldt, Humboldt Collegiate, Humboldt Public School, and a number of local businesses
